"I'm really enjoying the school rep role, it is a great way to get your voice heard, whilst giving students someone more approachable than staff. Currently we are trying to make some pretty major changes to the SCM including the IT based system, building opening hours amongst other things. My hobbies include creating, mixing and arranging music, gaming, skiing and table tennis."

08/09 Achievements

  •  The 3ds Max 2009 configuration path problem has been fixed – Max now runs error-free. Autosaves, previews and other system folder related issues have been solved.

  • The issue of LRC opening hours during exam time was raised by School Reps within the Vice-Chancellors Student Representation Buffet 2008 and the Student Experience co-ordination committee and as a result the LRC is piloting extended opening hours during term 3

  • As a result of input from School Reps, the University will be taking a SMS alert system forward from Autumn to keep students informed of lecture cancellations, important announcements etc.

  • Social Sciences and Law School Reps are now attending the Schools Learning and Teaching Committee which is a significant step forward in ensuring that the student voice is heard and we are hoping to take this initiative forward into all Schools as an outstanding example of student engagement.

  • Renderfarm is finally up and running after a lot of thorough testing – Qube software is now installed on all SCM games machines.
