VolunTees aims to promote and develop volunteering opportunities for University staff and students by working closely with local voluntary and community organisations.
The VolunTees website - www.voluntees.co.uk - includes details of volunteering opportunities throughout the local area, and also aims to develop new projects which could support and enhance the work of local organisations.
There are many ways to volunteer your time for the benefit of others. You may have a particular interest in, for example, sport or coaching events, or helping people develop IT skills. Or you may already be involved in voluntary activities at the University or in the Students' Union, such as being a student rep, being a club/society officer, or a Freshers Rep. VolunTees is an opportunity for you to increase or begin your volunteering commitment. All of the volunteering opportunities open to our students are promoted through the VolunTees website so if you would like to get more information please visit www.voluntees.co.uk
If you would like to set up your own project with support from the University and Students' Union the Student-Led Project Fund could help you progress this. Funding is available from the University to support the development of projects which are led by University students. You can develop your skills, so that you are involved in the planning and the budgeting of a project.
For more information on this please contact us at activities@tees-su.org.uk, or call into the Activities Centre on the first floor of the Students' Union.
