Teesside University Students' Union is run by and for the 20,000 plus students enrolled on Teesside University courses. We are student led with a democratic structure that includes an elected Executive Committee making day to day decisions.
To give meaning to our vision the Students' Union has developed a mission statement, which is consistent with and supportive of the mission of the University. The Students' Union expresses its mission as being:
| "To Enhance The Student Experience At Teesside University" |

In pursuing this mission the Students' Union will:
| As an organisation be student led, democratic, flexible and open in giving its members the opportunities and services that they need to make student life at Teesside better. | |
| As a medium for student development, ensure the student experience at Teesside incorporates increasing opportunities for personal development and the acquisition of broader life skills. | |
| As a medium for student support, endeavour to facilitate the development of provisions, facilities and services aimed at assisting students to realise the potential derivable from the student experience. | |
| As an employer strive to provide a working environment which encourages a shared sense of purpose, high morale and sense of attainment. | |
| In all its activities give consideration to the impact on the community of the Teesside University, Middlesbrough and the wider environment. | |
| In all its activities strive to deliver equality of treatment and opportunity irrespective of sex, sexuality, disability, ethnic orientation, creed, religion, age or ability and be independent of any political organisation or religious body. |
